Walk! Bike! Fun! Crow Wing Energized Curriculum Training
Teachers and Community Leaders Invited to FREE Continuing Education Session: Crow Wing Energized is proud to bring to local educators a training session around the new curriculum from the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota (BikeMN) called Minnesota Walk! Bike! Fun! Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety to help support the launch of the bike fleet received through the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee Legacy Fund.
This fun, active and hands-on training prepares educators for implementing the “Walk! Bike! Fun! Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety” curriculum to enhance their Safe Routes to School Plan, Active Classrooms, Active Recess, and Health and Physical Education curriculum. This new and exciting curriculum is designed for physical education, health teachers, other educators and community partners to use to engage kids in a thoughtful, playful and interactive program learning safety tips and skills for walking and biking.
This FREE training will be held on October 10, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd. All attendees will leave with the full curriculum to put into use, and will also be provided training assistance as a follow up for further promotion and efforts surrounding the Crow Wing Energized bike fleet, and so much more! Curriculum can be previewed at www.walkbikefun.org.
A light breakfast is available from 7:45 – 8:00 a.m. and then training begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Lunch is also included in the free training.
Be prepared to ride a bike for 2-3 miles in the community. Comfortable clothing is suggested. No need to bring your own bike or helmet – we’ve got those too! Educators will receive CEUs, the curriculum, supplemental materials and a scholarship for substitute teacher pay (if requested).
