Obstetrician/Gynecologist Dr Pamela Rice
(Click to hear about Dr Rice)
Where are you from? Heidelberg, MN in a rural area.
Where did you study for medicine? I attended the college
of St Scholastica in Duluth, then continued to Medical  School at the University of Minnesota
followed by a Residency at Balboa Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA. I then served in the Navy in San Diego, CA and also Iceland!
Did someone inspire you to become a doctor? I don’t have any family in medicine, but I had a passion for biology and chemistry.

Why did you decide to specialize in OB Medicine? I enjoy the variety including babies, office work, and surgery.

What drew you to Brainerd, MN for your practice? This community aligned with our values as a family with a great school district, honors programs for my kids ages 7, 10, and 12, and a church community.

Describe your personality and how it plays a part in the way you interact with patients. I feel it is my privilege to do what I do and my goal is for each of my patients to sincerely feel that.

What are your passions outside of medicine? (hobbies, activities, community involvements, etc.) Family walks and bike rides at the Arboretum and along the Paul Bunyan trail.

  1. Dr. Rice has been my OB through two pregnancies, and I could not have asked for a better experience or relationship with an OB. She is a kind an caring person, and I always felt that I was her only priority when I was with her. I am so grateful that you practice in the Brainerd Lakes area!
